The Unesco World Heritage Site named Historic Centre of Naples has been made unique worldwide by the extraordinary variety of cultures and civilizations that contributed to its present aspect
La Morella farmhouse offers accommodations in rooms and apartments, at about one hour drive or train trip from Napoli, largely meeting the comfort standards of a three-star hotel. Unlike any hotel, it offers wide gardens and meadows, a wide swimming pool, a restaurant with typical products and a vast countryside with a real working farm and wine production.

A visit to Naples’s historic centre today is a travel through twenty-five centuries of history. Founded in 470 B.C. by Greek settlers with gave it the name Neapolis (“new city”), Napoli has retained in its structure and monuments the imprint of many of the successive cultures that, in given periods of time, influenced Europe and the Mediterranean basin. Many of such cultures belonged to populations that politically dominated Naples for long periods of time, including Greeks and Romans, Byzantines, Normans, Swabians, Angevins, Aragoneses, Spanish, , Austrians, Bourbons and French.
Napoli is today the chief town of the Region of Campania. It is also chaotic city, where driving and parking can be pretty uncomfortable. The majority of the guests visiting Naples from our farmhouse prefer to use the train to get into the city. Connections from the Battipaglia station are pretty regular. Once got in the Naples Central Station in piazza Garibaldi, it is advisable to choose the subway (“Metropolitana”) line n. 1 and get out, according to the chosen plan, to one of the “Metro Art Stations” named Toledo, Dante or Museo. For those who have an accommodation in La Morella and prefer to travel by car, it is probably advisable to use one of the many parking garages in the area of Via Cervantes, that can be reached by a 70 min drive, although the trip duration can heavily depend on the urban traffic. An interesting alternative for those who are willing to visit the shopping area and the seaside is to use the Morelli parking created inside an existing cavern in the volcano stone, connected to a tunnel dating back to the XVII° century.
